Q: Does this mean the entry deadline will be later?
A: Yes. The new entry deadline is November 8, 2017 at 11:59 pm.
Q: Will the late entry deadline be pushed back one week also?
A: No. It will stay the same, December 1, 2017 11:59 pm for an additional $100 per entry.
Q: Can a late entry be submitted that has not been validated?
A: No. Only animals that have been properly validated can be entered.
Q: Do all heifers really need to be validated?
A: Yes. ALL animals showing at the 2018 JBE must be properly validated to enter.
Q: Must animals and exhibitors have proper registration papers at validation?
A: No. However, it is preferred. Animals for specific breed divisions must be properly registered in the exhibitors name by the entry deadline.
Q: Will I be able to change owners and/or breed divisions after validation?
A: Yes. But NOT after the entry deadline. The animal must be exhibited in March at the JBE in the name of the exhibitor who entered it and in the division the animal is entered in. The only exception will be for breed division animals moving down to crossbred (Market) or commercial (Breeding) divisions.
Q: Do I have to have official 840 EID tags in my animals before we get there?
A: Yes. Please make every effort to have your cattle tagged before arrival.
Q: Must I have a Premises ID at validation?
A: Yes. If you do not have your official Premises ID please go to the Alabama Department of Ag & Industries Premises ID page to apply for one.
Q: What if we have more questions?
A: Call the contacts listed for the validation site(s) or send an email to email@example.com.
