2020 JBE Online Registration, Validation Dates, Show Dates and More
Here are a few notable announcements:
Online Entry – The first thing exhibitors need to do is enter the 2020 show through the online entry system. This will signal Show Management to send the exhibitor a Validation Kit. Online entry will close on November 1, 2019.
Validation – There will be no physical validation sites for the 2020 show. After completing the online entry process, exhibitors should expect to receive a Validation Kit in the mail. These Validation Kits will include DNA Collection Envelopes, W-9 Forms, EID Tags (if the animal doesn’t already have an EID tag), and instructions on how to proceed. Exhibitors should follow the instructions and postmark the Validation Kits to the Alabama Junior Beef Expo by November 15.
Breeding Heifer Age – Heifers must be born between January 1, 2018 and November 1, 2019
Market Cattle Max Entry – There is no maximum number of Market Cattle an exhibitor can enter
Market Cattle Weight- There will be a minimum weight of 850 lbs. at Check-In to compete; no max
Ear Tags- All ear tags, except for the Official EID tag, must be removed before the conclusion of Check-In
There will not be any Performance Documented classes within the Market Steer & Breeding Heifer Show. Performance Documented will compete as a standalone show.
There will not be any County Group classes
PeeWee Showmanship – Calling all aspiring showmen to compete in the PeeWee showmanship division. This standalone division is designed for those who are younger than the minimum age requirement to be entered in the JBE. Youngsters can exhibit any animal they wish and are encouraged to bring an experienced showman/parent in the ring with them.
Cornhole Tournament – Make plans to compete in the 1st annual JBE Cornhole Tournament on Friday, March 20. Adults will compete in a separate division.
